Winter into Spring: a Live Poetry Reading and Discussion with J S Watts

Bassingbourn Community Book Café brings you the chance to hear local writer and poet J.S.Watts read from her acclaimed poetry and to ask her about her life and writing.

A resident of Bassingbourn-cum-Kneesworth, J.S.Watts will be supporting the Book Café by reading from her poetry collection Cats and Other Myths, together with seasonal poems based on and around the local landscape. She will talk about the poems, her life and her writing and there will be an opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions. Refreshments will be available during the intervals.

Cats and Other Myths (Lapwing Publications, 2011) is a collection of poems that find contemporary relevance in the echoes of myth and legend and the mythic in the day-to-day world around us. It has variously been described as a “beautiful collection”, “full of wonder”, “cleverly thought out poems –richly alive” and “expertly crafted”.
