Imison and Tinniswood Awards - Call for Entries

The Imison Award

  • £1,500 to the writer from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation

Encourages new talent by rewarding the best original radio drama by a writer new to radio and transmitted within the UK during 1 January - 31 December 2008. Judges are the Broadcasting Committee of the Society of Authors.

The Tinniswood Award

  • £1,500 to the writer from the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society

Honours the best original radio drama script broadcast in the UK during 1 January – 31 December 2008. Submissions are producer only and are restricted to a maximum of two entries per producer. We would like to encourage producers to send in quality scripts and would prefer a script that you are confident is the best. Judges for this year’s award are yet to be confirmed.

All submissions must arrive by 31st January 2009.

Anthology of Literary Non-Fiction - Call for Contributions

In November 2009 Two Ravens Press will publish an anthology of literary non-fiction that focuses on the relationship between people and the wild places of the British Isles. It is looking for high quality writing which animates a connection between humanity and the natural world where it is not obviously dominated by the human presence. It might articulate a discovery; a new way of seeing; an emotional response; a meditation on a place or who we are as people in a wild world.

Mentoring scheme for fiction writers

Gold Dust is a mentoring scheme for fiction writers, founded by novelist Jill Dawson in response to frequent requests from writing students for more individual support. The scheme operates from London, Cambridgeshire, Manchester and Oxford.

Meet the Author

Meet the Author works with leading publishing companies, authors and their agents, filming short video clips of authors introducing their books.  There are over 1,200 clips at the moment and more are filmed every day.


Each clip costs £400 plus VAT (plus travelling expenses if filmed outside Greater London). The cost includes filming, production, editing, formatting and web-streaming plus formatted clips for the publisher’s or author's own use.
