Advice and guidance

Members of the Society receive individual advice and guidance with any problems that occur as a writer.

The Society's staff vet publishing contracts and assist members in dispute with publishers. (see Legal Advice & Publications).

Many members see membership of the Society as a form of insurance, which can be important even if you have an agent.

All of the services mentioned above are covered by an annual subscription of £90. Excellent value when you consider that a typical hour's consultation with an intellectual property lawyer costs around £400.

If you are not already a member of the Society and would like to be sent a membership booklet, please email your postal address to us.
