A new publishing list is being launched next year by Tony Potter Publishing. WizzBook are currently looking for original chapter book fiction to form part of a brand new list for 2009. They are particularly interested in stories in the following categories: under-5s, 6 – 8 years, 9 –12 years. Download the Wizzbook submission guidelines
The Children's Writers and Illustrators Group works within the Society to further the interests of children's writers and artists.
The annual subscription to the Society of Authors includes membership to CWIG which is open to writers and illustrators who have had at least one book published by a reputable publisher.
Election is, however, at the discretion of the Committee. The Group exists to provide professional advice, to defend threatened members, to raise the status of children's books and to bring members together professionally and socially.
Regular meetings are held to give members an opportunity to meet each other as well as to network with industry figures. Speakers have so far included publishers, librarians, booksellers, reviewers and many distinguished writers and illustrators. Find out more about forthcoming events and the CWIG Conference.
Most meetings are held in London, but CWIG members can subscribe to an e-robin which details newsworthy information, events, debates, and dare I say it, a modicum of gossip!
If you would like to subscribe, please e-mail the Secretary of the Group.
Group Secretary: Jo McCrum
Please note that hotmail and virgin addresses are frequently returned (as their servers are somewhat unwieldy). If you have not received a mailing for over a month double check that messages are getting through.
Due to budgetary constraints the e-robin cannot be sent to members in printed form. Details of CWIG events or news (if appropriate) will be mailed and reported in our journal The Author.
